Marketing Internship

Seeking those who are upper level undergraduates or those who have already attained their undergraduate degree.

To provide undergraduates and recent graduates an opportunity to gain valuable work experience in the theatre industry.
Overview
Hennepin Theatre Trust, owner of the historic State, Orpheum and Pantages Theatres, is a non-profit organization devoted to enriching the vibrant cultural atmosphere of the Twin Cities. The Trust’s programs include Broadway touring productions, the SpotLight Musical Theatre Program for high schools, Critical View student reviewer program, Teen Ushers, the Access Program and Kids’ Night.
Internships are available throughout the year and typically run anywhere from six to 12 weeks. There are occasional openings for periods shorter or longer than this, depending on the needs of each department. Interns will work with the staff, observing practical applications of skills required in specific areas and applying those skills to assigned projects. Every effort will be made to make internships a valuable educational experience. However, interns will also be expected to perform a variety of administrative and clerical tasks.
The internship is an unpaid position. Complimentary tickets to a variety of Broadway shows, music, dance and variety entertainment will be made available to interns whenever possible.
Time Commitment
12 - 15 hours per week (some evenings will be required). Summer (8 weeks) or semester long (Fall/Spring).
Necessary Skills
Interns should be, at minimum, in their second year of a marketing/arts management curriculum. They should have the ability to use Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
What to Expect
The intern will assist in seeking out and implementing promotional partnership opportunities for Hennepin Theatre Trust presented shows, work with media outlets to schedule and traffic advertisements, develop a comprehensive plan to expand and better utilize the Trust Street Team, assist in developing new media for the Trust and assist with planning and executing special events.
