Mark Zobel joined Hennepin Theatre Trust as director of development in May of 2019. He leads the development team and is chiefly responsible for aligning development operations with the strategic goals of the organization.
Prior to joining Hennepin Theatre Trust, Mark served in a number of development-related roles at Blackburn College in Carlinville, Illinois, most recently as executive director for philanthropy and stewardship. Mark also held two adjunct faculty appointments at Blackburn, first as adjunct professor of music history from 2002-2006, and later as adjunct professor of philanthropy studies from 2017-2019. Mark holds both Master of Music and Ph.D. degrees in historical musicology from the University of Colorado-Boulder. Additionally, he holds a certificate in fundraising management (CFRM) from the Lilly Family School of Philanthropy at Indiana University, and he is also a certified fundraising executive with CFRE International.
