Closing North American Skies: The People and Stories Behind Come From Away

Thank you to everyone who took part in this amazing online presentation. The conversation brought chills and heartwarming encouragement to viewers. It was a truly inspiring way to start the final week of Come From Away performances and an important reminder to us all of how far a little kindness can take us.

When tragedy hit the United States on September 11, 2001, decisions on what to do had to be made quickly. Lieutenant General Eric “Rick” Findley of the Royal Canadian Air Force was on watch as NORAD’s Director of Operations that day, overseeing both Canadian and U.S. personnel and North American air space at Cheyenne Mountain Operations Center.

Captain Beverley Bass, American Airlines’ first female Captain, was en route from Paris to Dallas with 156 passengers plus crew. Join Lt. General Findley and Captain Bass, along with Come From Away cast member James Earl Jones II, for an online conversation with Canadian Consul General Ariel Delouya about their experiences and decisions on that day and how those actions led to the hit musical Come From Away running now through Jan. 23.

This free event is brought to you by The Consulate General of Canada in Minneapolis.

A heartfelt appreciation to our partners, speakers and supporters for making tonight possible. Together, let us honor those who have fallen, the first responders, and the friends and families that were affected by the September 11, 2001 attacks.
