Spotlight is teaming up with Perpich Center for Arts Education to offer a special professional development opportunity for theater educators. Join us on Saturday, February 18th for an all-day session on Access and Inclusion in Theater Education. Clock hours for educators are available! The day will include:

  • Unpacking the Show Director Roundtable
  • Access and Inclusion through Dance & Movement
  • Anti-Ableism in Theater Education
  • Catered meals
  • Tickets to To Kill a Mockingbird at the Orpheum Theatre

Space is limited, and registration is $25. Scholarships are available.

Artist bios:

Sarah Kenny (she/her) is a chronically ill/disabled educator, access advocate and theatre maker based in NYC. Currently, Sarah is the Senior Manager of Education, Access and Inclusion for Disney Theatrical Group, where she oversees accessibility, curriculum writing, career readiness and Disney’s flagship program: Disney Musicals in Schools (DMIS).

Karla Nweje (she/her) is a choreographer, performer, literary artist and arts educator. After obtaining teaching credentials, she worked as a NYC high school language arts teacher by day and a performer by night, using movement and theater arts techniques to enhance the learning process in her classroom.
