Hadestown Choreo and Dance Masterclass

All aboard! We’re going way down to Hadestown for our choreo & dance masterclass with Hadestown Associate Choreographer Katie Rose McLaughlin! This session will focus on performing and discovering personal freedom and self-expression through movement. We’ll learn a selection of choreo from the show, and make sure to bring your questions for a Q&A.

KATIE ROSE McLAUGHLIN is an NYC-based choreographer and director for theater, opera, film, music videos and viral TikToks. She has the great pleasure of being the Associate Choreographer for the Tony Award-winning musical Hadestown on Broadway, NYTW, Edmonton, South Korea, and the First National Tour. Her work has been presented by Ars Nova, Under the Radar, HERE Arts Center, Joe’s Pub, St. Anne’s Warehouse, Target Margin, BRIC, and Ensemble Studio Theatre among others. Originally from Medina, MN, Katie Rose trained in ballet under the direction of Bonnie Mathis at Ballet Arts Minnesota and she attended the Joffrey/New School BFA program on full scholarship prior to kicking off her love affair with theater by training at a renowned clown school in Switzerland. She has performed with the Tony Award-winning Theatre de la Jeune Lune and as Esmeralda in several iterations of Redmoon Theater’s Hunchback including runs in Washington D.C. and at the New Victory Theater in NY where it received a New York Times Critics’ Pick. In 2013, she co-founded and became the Artistic Director of Designated Movement Co., a dance/theater company interested in blurring the lines between forms.
