Lit Voices is a monthly series designed to honor and acknowledge community contributions of hometown poets, spoken word and rap artists. This free event will take place in the Jack Link’s Legend Lounge at 900 Hennepin each month and will be emceed by international poet, co-founder and frontman for Edupoetic Enterbrainmen, Tiyo Siyolo.

Each event will include a DJ – the four DJs who will rotate through each event are DJ Snuggles, Dot La Roc, Huh? What??, and Anthony Smoke D.

Frank Sentwali is owner/operator of BMF Entertainment Llc. and the co-creator of Edu-Poetic Enterbrainment, “Educational Poetic Entertainment for Da Brain aimed at those who can’t maintain yet.” He has performed as a solo artist in Chicago, Milwaukee, New Orleans, New York and Seattle as well as various Twin Cities venues. As front man for the Edu-Poetic ensemble, Sentwali has toured the western United States, the Midwest, the Southeast as well as Vancouver B.C., Canada , and the UK. Sentwali is also an accomplished promoter, having produced the Jazzville Open MIC, the U-R-Safehouse series at the Blue Nile and most recently, the acclaimed Poets of the City series. A true Twin Cities activist, educator, performing artist and Hip Hop pioneer, Sentwali has made his mark doing everything from Rap and Spoken Word to Master of Ceremonies, arts education and radio.

Ms. Lutunji is the CEO and founder of Voices of Effective Change, Inc. and will host the Lit Voices series through August 2019. Voices of Effective Change, Inc. is a community advocacy and public relations company with the mission to send the effective voice to the masses, stand with young parents and their parents using the tools of personal empowerment and community development.
