One of the world’s greatest percussionists, the wizardly Indian tabla player and composer Zakir Hussain is a virtuoso improviser who is at home in the realms of ancient North Indian music and also explores new veins of expression with major artists as varied as guitarist John McLaughlin, drummer Mickey Hart, banjoist Bela Fleck, and bassist Edgar Meyer.  Zakir is joined by Rahul Sharma who learned music and the Santoor from his father, Guru Pandit Shivkumar Sharma, who is a music legend in India and throughout the world. Rahul has written music for several Bollywood films with many leading film stars. In 2002 he was one of the youngest music directors for whom the nightingale of India Lata mangeshkar sang all the songs for Yash chopra’s ‘Mujhase Dosti karoge’ starring Hritik Roshan-Kareena Kapoor.  However Rahul’s primary interest remains with Indian classical, fusion and experimental music.
