Group Sales Coordinator

The group sales coordinator is a contract position, working 15 to 20 hours a week. The person in the role is responsible for meeting or exceeding revenue goals associated with outbound group sales for Brave New Workshop (BNW), including standard performances, customized shows, and activities like dinner or happy hour before a show. The person in the role will also help stand up BNW’s group sales business, advising on processes and policies to make the efforts more effective and efficient.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee group sales from initial contact to close of sale, collection of payment and following up with clients afterward.
  • Receive and respond to all group sales inquiries in a timely fashion.
  • Accurately maintain group sales database.
  • Conduct market research and develop potential customer lists.
  • Actively seek and secure outlets for marketing and advertising BNW group sales.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with clients with the goal of repeat business and word-of-mouth advertising.
  • Make outbound calls, whether following a lead or making cold calls. Make in-person visits as needed.
  • Process ticketing requests.
  • Track group sales performance, including pipeline management, sales and trends. Submit regular reports and insights on such items to management.
  • Provide ideas and suggestions regarding marketing campaigns and operations to the theatre operations manager and event center director.

Required Qualifications

  • Successful track record in meeting or exceeding group sales earned revenue goals.
  • Proven ability to provide excellent customer service.
  • Active commitment to establishing a productive, collaborative culture that values diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently. Strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. Comfortable communicating in person, over the phone or through email.
  • Experience working with a CRM. Proficient in MS-Office.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience working with scheduling and event coordination platforms.
  • Experience starting and/or growing a group sales arm of a theatre.
  • Outbound sales experience.

Compensation

The role pays $20 to $25 an hour and will receive a $1 commission for every ticket sold. The role also receives commission on customized performances and extra activities like dinners or happy hours with shows.
