Information Technology Intern

Hennepin Theatre Trust, owner of the historic Orpheum, State, and Pantages Theatres, is an independent, non-profit organization dedicated to arts-inspired community cultural development. The Information Technology Intern assists and supports the Technology and Facility Manager by providing onsite support for staff members and helping maintain our computer and VOIP network. The position is also responsible for documenting and recording best practices and creating job aides for IT-related project and department-specific processes.

In addition, the Information Technology Intern will learn the basics of Salesforce, a cloud-based CRM (Client Relationship Management) database, which provides a rich platform for managing an entire organization. The role helps maintain data integrity and accuracy, making changes to existing Salesforce applications, objects, and fields, and building new components as required.

This position is a part-time (10-12 hours/week), 12 month, paid internship designed to give college students real experience in office IT management and CRM database management in a nonprofit arts organization. It will also provide college students with real project experience.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

IT & General

  • Provide general administrative support, including password resets, network patch changes, process documentation, research and data gathering.
  • Assist in the development and documentation of technology, telecommunications, and Salesforce-based processes best practices and job-aides.
  • Assist meeting preparation, such as preparing reports, agendas, scheduling and other meeting logistics.
  • Accompany team members at special external meetings with third party consultants as available.

Salesforce

  • Learn Salesforce administration in a real environment
  • Assist Technology and Facility Manager in executing IT and Salesforce-related projects
  • Assist in maintaining the integrity and health of our Salesforce Data
  • Assists in general Salesforce Admin tasks such as adding fields, page layouts and reports & dashboards.
  • Maintains and develops the library of technical help sheets for Salesforce-related Trust processes.
  • Assists in adjusting the Trust’s Salesforce instance ahead of the transition to Lightning Experience and use of the Mobile App.
  • Maintains and updates FormAssembly forms.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Junior or senior in college, with an IT or database focus
