Broadway’s most exciting shows come to Minneapolis in an eight-show season subscription package of Minnesota premieres and returning classics: Disney’s FROZEN, MEAN GIRLS, ANASTASIA, THE BAND’S VISIT, COME FROM AWAY, Lerner & Loewe’s MY FAIR LADY, JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR and SUMMER: THE DONNA SUMMER MUSICAL.

MINNEAPOLIS — Hennepin Theatre Trust today announced that season subscription packages for the 2019 – 2020 Bank of America Broadway on Hennepin season will go on sale for new subscribers on Friday, March 29 at 10 a.m. online at HennepinTheatreTrust.org, by phone at (800) 859-7469 or in person at the State Theatre Box Office (805 Hennepin Ave., Minneapolis). The 2019 – 2020 season features Minnesota premieres and returning favorites for a total of 16 weeks of Broadway presented on the stages of the historic Orpheum and State Theatres.
The eight-show season subscription package price starts at $345 and includes: Disney’s Frozen, Mean Girls, Anastasia, The Band’s Visit, Come From Away, Lerner & Loewe’s My Fair Lady, Jesus Christ Superstar and Summer: The Donna Summer Musical. Tickets to return engagements of The Phantom of the Opera, Rent 20th Anniversary Tour and Blue Man Group may be added to the eight-show package.
Disney’s FROZEN, an unforgettable theatrical experience, makes its eagerly anticipated Minneapolis debut for three spectacular weeks May 13 – 31, 2020. Featuring the beloved songs from the original film and new ones, FROZEN is pure Broadway joy.
Direct from Broadway, MEAN GIRLS, the hilarious hit musical from an award-winning creative team, will play for two weeks Oct. 1 – 13. The dazzling ANASTASIA journeys to Minneapolis for two weeks from March 24 – April 5, 2020 with romance and adventure.
THE BAND’S VISIT, the current Tony Award-winner for Best Musical, brings together unforgettable strangers in unexpected ways Dec. 10 – 15 (previously announced as Dec. 17 – 22) to rejoice in life, laughter and tears with music. The remarkable COME FROM AWAY lands Aug. 11 – 16, 2020 telling the true story of enduring friendships of 7,000 stranded passengers and the small town in Newfoundland that welcomed them during 9/11.
Two new productions of timeless classics will make their Minnesota debuts to the delight of lifelong fans and new audiences. In a glowing new Lincoln Center production, Lerner and Loewe’s MY FAIR LADY reintroduces us to Eliza Doolittle and Henry Higgins March 3 – 8, 2020. And celebrating its 50th anniversary, JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR, the iconic musical phenomenon from Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice that changed the world, is reinvented with fresh inspiration Jan. 21 – 26, 2020.
From being a gospel choir singer to a dance floor diva, Donna Summer’s story lights up the dance floor July 14 – 19, 2020 in SUMMER: THE DONNA SUMMER MUSICAL. With more the 20 classic hits, it’s an electric tribute to the voice of a generation with a voice from heaven.
Three timeless classics return next season offering something for everyone. THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA triumphantly returns Nov. 20 – Dec. 1 for two spectacular weeks. The musical that changed the landscape of American musical theatre, RENT, kicks off the season Aug. 14 – 18. The eight-show season subscription package price starts at $345 and can be split into five monthly installments automatically charged to a credit card with no additional fees or interest. Prices include applicable season subscription discounts, theatre restoration and handling fees, and, if applicable, Select Plus or Select subscription fees.
All subscribers are guaranteed the same seats for each show in their eight-show package and receive exclusive benefits including easy payment, online ticket management exchanges, and auto-renewals.
Tickets for individual shows will go on sale to the general public at later dates. Prices, shows, artists, dates and times are subject to change without notice.
