Minneapolis Musical Theatre (MMT) is building on their “Rare Musicals. Well Done.” credo by bringing a free, ticketed event to Twin Cities audiences this fall with Minne-Musicals — an evening of five 10-minute musicals, curated from pieces that have been a part of Theatre Now’s SOUND BITES festival in New York. The event is produced in partnership with Hennepin Theatre Trust and The Chambers Hotel in downtown Minneapolis September 10-12, 2021. Minne-Musicals is a free-form, roving theatrical experience. Audiences will have the opportunity to see five 10-minute musicals, at their own pace, in whatever order they choose.

MMT’s Minne-Musicals will be performed in four different spaces across two buildings — The Hennepin (900 Hennepin Ave.) and The Chambers Hotel (901 Hennepin Ave.), with each of the musicals repeated several times throughout the evening. Audience members can decide which show to start their experience with and then move through each of the spaces to see however many of the shows they’d like. Those with a free pass can get admission to any of the musicals, as long as there is space available, starting with the first performances at 6:30 p.m. and ending with the last performances at 9:50 p.m. However, free ticketholders are advised to arrive between 6:15 and 7:30 p.m. to make the most use of the pass and for the best chance at seeing all five musicals. As passes are available at no cost, and reservations are highly recommended. Rush line ticket availability will be assessed on a per-evening basis. With your free reserved pass, you get admission to any of the shows, as long as there are seats available. Suggested $20 donation.

Attendees may guarantee preferred seating at each of the five musicals with the purchase of a VIP pass. Also included with the VIP pass is an MMT gift and a voucher for a free drink at The Hennepin, all for only $40. VIP ticketholders have a check-in time of 7 p.m. and should be done with all five shows by 9:15 p.m. Those wishing to take their support for this project to the next level are invited to become a member of the Minne-Musicals Founders Circle for only $80. Founders get all the perks of the VIP Pass plus are invited to join the MMT Board and Artistic Director for a special opening night launch party with drinks and heavy appetizers at the Chambers Hotel, September 10 at 5:30 p.m.

COVID-19 safety information:
Attendees will be in each space for a very brief time and audience size will be limited, allowing for space to spread out. Masks are required for all audience members. Ticketholders will be notified if this changes.
