Plan your visit to the Hennepin Theatre District
As one of the city’s most vibrant areas, the Hennepin Theatre District offers the best of Broadway, live concerts and other performances, community events, and numerous unexpected arts experiences in the form of large-scale murals, window displays, events and more.
Special dining and hotel offers for patrons
On Monday, Governor Walz instructed all bars and restaurants to close in response to COVID-19. This greatly impacts our partners downtown. Some partners are offering take out and/or delivery options, and we have a list of them along with other updates on the partner offers page.
Eater Twin Cities also published an article offering ways to support hospitality industry businesses affected by the public health concerns and closings.
Preshow drinks before every Broadway performance
Located in our event center at 900 Hennepin (next door to the Orpheum Theatre), the Jack Link’s Legend Lounge is the perfect place to grab a drink and meet friends before seeing a show. Open to the public 90 minutes before every Bank of America Broadway on Hennepin performance and through intermission, the lounge sells beer, wine, cocktails and snacks.
Hennepin Avenue construction updates
Hennepin Avenue is undergoing a major improvement project that will impact traffic. Please plan to leave home early and expect delays due to change in traffic flows. Here’s what you need to know:
- Hennepin Avenue will be reduced to one lane in each direction.
- No left turns or stopping will be permitted; please plan to be dropped off or picked up along a side street.
- All sidewalks will remain intact and open during this phase of the project.
- Construction is scheduled to occur during normal business hours and will not affect entrance to our theatres or our event center at 900 Hennepin Avenue.
Check HennepinDowntown.com for details and latest information about the reconstruction project and visit Minneapolis Traffic Services for information on major street closures in the Twin Cities metro area.
