Spotlight Education honors high school productions and students by formally recognizing the extraordinary achievements and process of developing young artists, onstage and offstage, in our state’s high school theater programs. We support participating programs and artists by providing high-quality learning, performing and creative experiences for students to develop and empower the next generation of innovative leaders.

Spotlight events

Spotlight schools have the opportunity to enhance their own theater curriculum through masterclasses, workshops and community conversations. Students gain insights and inspiration from theater professionals through masterclasses and workshops, and community conversations establish safe, inclusive spaces for students and educators.

Spotlight Showcase

Spotlight Showcase is Minnesota high school theater’s biggest celebration! Over 1,600 students participate in the fully produced recognition event by being a part of their Spotlight-evaluated productions or applying for the select Triple Threat, Technical Theater, Publicist and Orchestra tracks.
