Heather McGannon

Chief Administrative Officer

As Chief Administrative Officer, Heather McGannon is responsible for Hennepin Theatre Trust’s business affairs, which includes supervising the Trusts’ finances, technology, human resources and legal affairs. Heather provides leadership and governance for enterprise-wide strategic and functional activities, works with department heads across the business and devises policies to meet organizational goals.

Prior to joining the Trust, Heather served as the Assistant Commissioner with the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry, the State executive cabinet agency responsible for ensuring that Minnesota’s work and living environments are equitable, healthy and safe. Heather served as the lead Executive Administrator for the agency, responsible for Human Resources, Financial Services, Office of General Counsel, Communications, Legislative Affairs, Research & Statistics, Projects & Planning and Information Technology. During her time with the Department, Heather successfully received and implemented more than $20 million in federal grant awards to enhance registered apprenticeship and worker’s compensation programs for affected workers. Additionally, of note, she co-created and implemented DLI’s diversity, equity and inclusion strategic framework and actively engaged in the implementation of agency civic engagement processes.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Heather was deployed by the Office of Governor Tim Walz to serve in the State’s Emergency Operations Center as the Director of State COVID-19 Testing and Mass Vaccinations, where she led the rollout, management and decommissioning of the State’s COVID-19 testing program.

Prior to her time in State service, served in leadership roles with Saint Paul College and Hennepin Technical College.

Heather holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Minnesota and a master’s degree from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota. She resides in Eden Prairie with her husband, two children and three dogs.
