Event Center

Our event center at 900 Hennepin Avenue is a beautiful, historic building located at the heart of downtown Minneapolis’ vibrant Hennepin Theatre District. The space — located next to our largest theatre, the Orpheum — enables us to bring high-quality, international, national and local arts and cultural experiences to an ever-increasing number of Minnesotans, as well visitors from across the globe.

The space is also a perfect spot for your upcoming event, with several unique rooms and outdoor spaces available for rent.

Since it was built in 1921, 900 Hennepin Avenue has served as home to a wide variety of tenants, including a dance studio, a place to receive vocal lessons (the Andrews Sisters even took classes here) and a hospitality center for veterans of World War II. Most recently, it was the home of Solera, an upscale restaurant and event center. Hennepin Theatre Trust purchased the building in 2016 and embarked on an ambitious renovation project to restore its historical features and update the space to accommodate a wide range of events. This included replacing the roof, revealing original brick walls and other features, and installing a maple, sprung floor on the third level. Our investment allows us to usher this historic space into the future, providing businesses, organizations and individuals with a beautiful venue for weddings, corporate parties and meetings, live music and theater events, musical theater or dance classes for high school students, and much more.

Studio 900 is located on the third floor of the event center and provides the perfect setting for a wide variety of events.

Hennepin Theatre Trust hosts Broadway rehearsals, masterclasses, education events, cast parties, meetings, community events and more in this space.

It is also available for rent. With 2,800 square feet and a gorgeous maple, sprung floor, Studio 900 provides flexible space for dance, theater, weddings, corporate events, fundraisers, family reunions, festivals or any other type of event.

The Jack Link’s Legend Lounge is open to the public and is a convenient spot to gather and meet friends before the show. Located on the ground floor of the event center facing Hennepin Avenue, the Lounge is open  90 minutes before every Bank of America Broadway on Hennepin performance and through intermission. Beer, wine, Jack Link’s-inspired cocktails, as well as other cocktails, and snacks are available to purchase, and local breweries or distilleries offer occasional tastings.

The PNC Encore Lounge is Hennepin Theatre Trust’s private donor lounge, an exclusive benefit to corporate partners and donors who give $1,000 or more annually. Located on the first floor of the event center, it is open 90 minutes prior to Bank of America Broadway on Hennepin  performances. The lounge features complimentary wine and beer as well as access to restrooms at intermission.
