A message from the Trust

Hennepin Theatre District

The historic verdict in the trial of Derek Chauvin is a significant milestone in this painful and traumatizing journey for our community. Our thoughts are with the family of George Floyd during their difficult healing process. While this verdict represents one instance of accountability, we recognize there is still a lot of work to do in the pursuit of broader justice.

We will not lose sight of our responsibility in creating a more just and inclusive world starting here in Minneapolis. Hennepin Theatre Trust stands united with our friends, neighbors and community in working to replace systemic racism with systems of fairness and equity.

Hennepin Theatre Trust is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization that advances the cultural and economic vitality of Minnesota through leadership of a dynamic arts district in downtown Minneapolis and educational programming that reaches every area of the state. Our historic theatres — Orpheum, State and Pantages — light up Hennepin Avenue with the best of Broadway and diverse, top-tier entertainment. Our building at 900 Hennepin provides a creative community space for performances and other events and serves as our organization’s headquarters. Annually, the Trust serves more than 8,000 high school students statewide and brings nearly 600,000 people to the Hennepin Theatre District to experience art on the street and stage.
